Artwork Requirements
The quality of your printed design depends upon the quality of artwork you supply to us! All orders requiring artwork must be sent as PRINT READY vector art. Artwork can be submitted via E-Mail or online file transfer. To avoid delays or art charges, please adhere to our specifications. Note, our dispatch schedule may depend on the quality of the artwork submitted and upon any changes made to the artwork once the order has been worked on.
Acceptable Artwork Files:
✔ Adobe Illustrator (AI, ESP or PDF)
✔ Photoshop (PSD or JPEG) Must be 300 DPI or higher when at 100% final print size. Note this is only for digital transfer service only
✔ All fonts must be converted to outlines, curves or paths (vector)
NOT Acceptable Artwork Files:
❌ GIF files
❌ Word processing documents (Word, Power Point)
❌ Photocopies
❌ Letterheads
Vector artwork is the most preferred. It provides the best quality and allows images to be resized without loss of sharpness or detail.
The last thing you want is for your logo or design to look pixelated on your promotional item. That’s what happens with raster images. Raster images are .JPG or .PNG or .DOC files and are also known as Bitmaps. Vector graphics on the other hand have a higher resolution which means your design can be resized without any blurriness. Vector files can be made in Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw or Sketch programs.
Any artwork with tight registration, halftones, screen tints and/or bleeds must be reviewed by our artwork department or production manager for approval. Please avoid very fine lines, both in type and illustrations. If your branding has very specific colour guidelines, please provide the correct colour codes for either pantone spot colour (PMS) or CMYK breakdowns
Pantone Colour
Also known as Spot Colour printing is specific and takes highly precise mixes of ink to create an exact colour. It uses pre-determined colours found in a swatch-book to match a certain colour used in the design process. Thus, it’s known as the Pantone Matching System or PMS. Note that when mixing inks we match to the swatch-book and when applied to an item the items material or surface colour may effect the print colour which is unavoidable.
Full Colour Process
Also known as CMYK. It is made up of four colours: cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Industrial colour offset presses, high-end colour laser printers and even your home printer uses CMYK colour model. When printing with four colour process, each colour is put on the item separately and then layered. Zoom in on a printed image and you will notice half-toning or little dots of colour layered over one another, creating the perception of a solid when look at it. CMYK is best for printing photos or multi-coloured graphics.
QR codes will not print or scan well on fuzzy or holey textures. QR codes should be at least 40mm x 40mm in size to have the best scan result. Dark ink colours printed onto lighter material colours is recommended. But note that yellow, orange and greens are slightly transparent inks so printing these onto darker coloured materials may result in duller print effects. We suggest ordering a pre-production sample or image if you are concerned at all about any printing details, colours or placements.
